Anybody take the new BJCP online exam yet?

Wed Apr 11, 2012 6:43 pm

What did you think? How did you do?

The report is that about 100 folks took it already, with about a 70-75% pass rate. That's about in line with the old test.
Just curious to hear how it went.

I am curious if there is a cheat sheet out for the on-line exam yet?

I was involved in setting up the question pool (hence my curiosity on how it's being received). There are ~6000 true/false and multiple choice questions in the question pool. I don't see how a "cheat sheet" can be made that will be effective for this kind of test.

took it and passed. definitely a time crunch tho. know your styles because a huge portion revolves around them. you can look up SOME answers (like does INSERT STYLE have these characteristics) but it definately will eat away at the 2 hours fast. by the time i got to the 1 hour mark i had 85/200 questions done. pretty sure i would have failed but i just finished up with my craftbeeru.com class so i learned quite a bit. :jnj

Taking a study class right now and am scheduled to take the tasting portion on June 9th. Some of the members of our study group have already taken the online portion and passed. Like others said, study up before and watch your time. BTW there is a free 20 question sample exam that anyone can take.

Good luck on the 9th NHB!!

I took the sample test and got 2 wrong ( one had to do with judging ranks ). I've got a lot of work to do with my tasting skills, so I'll wait until then to take the online.
