Mississippi coming of age

Mon Apr 09, 2012 1:13 pm

This morning, Ms. Gov. Phil Bryant signed into legislation, Senate Bill 2878, which raises our ABW from 5% to 8%....or 6.2ABV to 10.1ABV. I know for many of you, this seems insignificant....but for us in Ms., this has been a 3 year struggle. Yes, it's still only 10%, but it's a start. Still can't "legally" homebrew, but that is "in the works" too. Think they are trying to backdoor it in on some other legislation....don't know all there is to know about that yet.

Don't know if your legislators are any less backwards than your Alabama neighbors, but after the sound clips of their homebrew bill crashing, you gotta be hoping you get it legalized before them...

Alabama did get their ABV raised first (maybe Alvin Holmes called in sick that day?). Hopefully both of them have continued successes soon!
