CLOSED

Secret Santa 2011 !!!!!!

Here are the rules:

The current deadline is December 04, 2011 to be entered into the swap.

Atleast one homebrew (22oz or TWO 12oz) is required, more are recommended. You may send commercial beers along with your homebrewed beer, mead, or cider. Because of issues in the past (read me), please be sure you have bottled homebrew on hand before entry into the swap.

This is celebration of the craft and homebrewing code. THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION! If you wish to receive feedback from the person you are sending to, provide your information and a request for feedback with your bottles. Only provide feedback if asked by the brewer. Don't be afraid to send your brew no matter your skill level.

Labeling of the beer is a must! How much info you provide depends on how willing you are to share. Recipe, type, or description is reconmended.

~~~~~
To enter PM me with your name and address. Brewers code your address will only be used to send "yeast samples" to your door.
All information sent is completely confidential & will only be given to your Secret Santa for the purposes of this swap. You will only find out who you're sending your brew to, not who has been given your name. Forum names WILL be provided.
****BY ORGANIZING THIS SWAP, I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ACTION POSITIVE OR ADVERSE FOR THE SENDER OR RECIPIENT****
Just bumping this...
****Edit****
Adding the deadline earlier in the thread so new people can see it easier.
The deadline will be Sunday the 4th of December at midnight, so everyone that has already signed up will get a list of names on Monday the 5th to ship out as soon as you are able. We moved it up following Bug's suggestion of trying to avoid the last minute Xmas mailing rush.
For anyone new to this thread that wants to join, Pythoner is out of town for a bit, so send your PM to me and I'll keep track of things.
If anyone is new to shipping, it's been covered multiple times in the show, but here are the basics:
-Do not use USPS, go with UPS or FedEx (although some here have expressed a preference for UPS), but if you tell them what it is, they won't take it.
- Make sure that each bottle is securely and completely padded. Bubble wrap works well, secured with a strip of packaging tape. Bottles need to be buffered from each other, as well as from the sides of the box. Each bottle should go into a zip top plastic bag to contain liquid in case of breakage.
- Use a good quality cardboard box, and although you hear it a lot, I don't label it with "Yeast Samples" or anything else, just send it.
- If you WANT the person you are sending to to know who you are on the forums, feel free to include whatever information you want (A note or letter about the beer, a poem, etc.). A lot of us would be interested to see the recipe, so if you've got recipe sheets, feel free to send them to. At the very least, provide some sort of labeling so that your recipient isn't playing homebrew roulette. If you don't wish your name to be know and want to keep Secret Santa secret, you aren't required to reveal yourself.
UPDATE:
We have as many people entered as last year! Sounds amazing until I say it's 10 people and last year I had to scour my brew club to make 10. But we ran for 2 weeks last year and it has been 2 days this year.
