I don't want to abuse alcohol, but...

I cannot drink this beer anymore. Sierra Nevada Torpedo. Tastes like dandelions. Bought a 6 pack the other night. Got through two of them and choked down the third. I don't think I can drink the other three.
With my new hobby at home brewing I figured I buy a six pack of different styles to sample what I would like to brew. I like wheat beer and lagers. SN's pale ale is good enough to drink. This Torpedo stuff is simply horrible. Does not match my taste at all. If all IPAs are like that, I'll scratch that off the list to brew.
Can I cut it with a BMC beer to make it drinkable or should I just abuse it (dump it)?

Cut it with something more like a blonde ale or an american wheat. Those have more malt in them and that will balance the bitterness. BMC (American Lagers) will water it down but not change the flavor for you.
You are just developing your palate. It is not surprising that IPA is an acquired taste for many folks at first. After about 6 months or a year, go back and try it again and I'm pretty sure that you'll like them a lot better.
The same will go for phenolic beers (Ilike Belgians) and sours. Doppelbock was another that I couldn't appreciate at first either.
Torpedo is fantastic IPA. You'll look back on this post at some point and laugh.

Thanks. I'm positive the Torpedo is a great beer, it's just the bitterness is not to my personal liking.

+2,
Keep drinking.... and brewing soldier. I started out liking pale ales, and ambers. IPAs were to bitter. Now, 5 years of homebrewing later, an IPA isn't bitter enough. Brew and drink what you like, you will find that your palate will shift.

Same here, although I can't possibly pick a single style to say is my "favorite".

The one thing I have found since I started brewing is that your tastes will evolve/change over time. Make sure that every once in a while you revist beers that you have tried earlier, you may find yourself pleasently suprized.
