How old is this bottle of Old Peculiar?

It kind of looks like the top of this bottle I picked up a few years ago.
I love Samuel Smiths and when I picked This up the beer I had ever tried of theirs was the Oatmeal Stout. I bought it for 5 bucks.

No expert but this was intriguing so I did some research...

The wide mouth bottle with a foil cap appears to have been used up through the mid-80's

Passino Distributing Co. was bought out in 2005

Your glass bottle has a serial on the bottom that ends -83

I'm gonna bet on 1983.
