I've also never taken money for beer. I have had donations to the cause, and equipment donated. I was given a stainless steel five gallon pot for just a 6 pack. I'm going to get a burner and propane bottles for a few more. I can say that I have turned down money for brewing a whole batch. I would rather have them come over and drink a few with me so I can see them enjoy it. If they don't like it, I'll know too.
For me, mo' betta drink you wit me and donate to the cause.

Don't know if this counts but here is the story.

I had to call the Cable Guy to fix some issues I was having with my internet.
If the malfunction is outside the house the call is free.
If the malfunction is inside the house it cost $50.

My original malfunction was inside and the bill was $50, after some beer talk and a 6 pack of homebrew the problem miraculously appeared to have originated outside.

I've never taken money for my beer, but I do use it to barter with. I haven't paid for CO2 in almost a year and I get my propane at a discount.

i never take money for my beer, i just like people coming over and enjoying it. most people i know have been slow to try it as over here most people think of homebrew as that cheap shit your dad or uncle or whoever made in the eighties from hopped malt extract kits with a full kilo of sugar added, but now more people have been over and tried it the word is getting out that it acyually tastes good. ( i'm totally all grain by the way)
kegged-one light summer ale
kegged- one ordinary bitter
bottled- celebration ale
fermenting- ordinary bitter
