Per Alabama Homebrewers Right to Brew

The Alabama Homebrew Bill passed the Senate Job Creation & Economic Development Committee this afternoon. The vote was 3 - 2, with one abstention. Folks, that was a much narrower margin than the IDENTICAL Senate version of the bill, SB171, passed (5 - 1) this same committee in February. The prohibitionists lobby is clearly getting to the Alabama senators, so we must step up our grassroots efforts to convince the people we elected to vote for us, not them!

Well at least it passed out of the senate committee. Hopefully it will get brought up for a vote on the floor.

Just passed the Senate without debate! Only the governor stands between us and legality now.

Wouldn't it be awesome if our bill was effective immediately on signing...

You were looking in a mirror. Mississippi. Same thing. That Y axis can be tricky when things get flipped.

Yes. If Governor Bentley signs it, the law goes into effect immediately and Alabama will be the 49th state in which homebrewing is legal. Mississippi's law takes effect in July.
