I had the best of intentions to let these bottles sit for a month cold lagering. I'm Impatient to say the least! They've only been cold for a week.

The secret to good lagers is ales. You make ales to drink while you wait on the lager.

Yup. Unfortunately, the previous batch of my rye IPA went fast and I haven't brewed often enough to get a good overlap.

I think you misspoke... "The secret to good lagers is ales. Just brew ales instead and you don't have to taste sulfur."

I had this discussion with adamK a couple weeks back. The biggest reason I don't do lagers is the longer time. My blonde ale is pouring in 2.5 weeks; if I condition my 001 before I pitch & ferment <62 it's close enough for me. That slight lager touch isn't worth a couple extra weeks. Not saying I'll never do a lager again, but it won't be anytime soon or very often. I wouldn't mind having a dort on tap, mostly since the style is non-existent here. If I want a pilsner or most any of the other more 'common' lagers, I'll buy them. If it's your thing, do it & have fun. It's just not mine.
