Beer store near Union Square in SF?

Hi folks,

One of my colleagues is going to be in San Francisco for a week in early December. He has said he should have space in his suitcase to bring some beer back for me. Can any locals recommend a good beer store for him to visit? He'll be staying near Union Square.
