Got an idea what do you think

Thu Oct 28, 2010 10:09 am

I was thinking of using my empty prescription bottles for hop storage. They are brown to block light and I believe air tight. This way i can write the type and ammount on the side or cap and tidy up all those partial bags of hops i have building up in the freezer. Looking for the Army's $.02

I used to store...um...other stuff in mine. Worked pretty good!

How many pills do you take? I can't get an ounce of hops in my last prescription bottle.

It is mostly for partial bags. I also have some bigger bottles from when the pharmacy runs out of the standard smaller ones. Thx crupp thats good info.

What makes you think those things are airtight? Even if they are, you are still putting your hops in the vial with the oxygen that is already in there. Just playing devils advocate here on the day before Halloween....

Thats pretty much what I was asking, are they air tight? As for the oxygen thats already there it cant be anyworse than an already open bag. Sure there is going to be some oxygen in there but not alot of it and if they are air tight not any more getting in. Plus much easier to organize. Still havent found out for sure if they are air tight though.
