Did my first outdoor extract batch and...it was a HUGE pain in the ass. Had to drag all of my crap out to the patio and then my Bayou Classic burner just couldn't get the full boil going (6 gallons). It must have been insanely low on propane, because I get a stronger boil on the damn stove.

People don't stay indoors for very long in the this hobby, but my first go at it was awful.

Tell me again why it's better to brew outside??

Was it windy?
Are you a douche?
There is something wrong with your burner if your stove does better, just a fact.

Were both the valve on your propane tank and your regulator on full blast? Did you ajust the damper.

New burner setup? Have you used it before?

I moved outside after my first brew 7 yrs. ago, don't plan on going back to the stove any time soon.

Check your shit, like Bub said, something is def. wrong if you couldn't boil.

Did you trip the high flow/liquid protection device in the tank? I know if I don't open the valve on my tank extremely slow, mine will trip and they you get very little flow.

Sometimes on my burners I can get vapor lock between the tank valve and the burner valve.

If it happens again try turning it all off, disconnecting the tank, turning on the gas and then opening the valve on the burner hose

It's a really sad commentary on my noob status to the forum that Bub asks if I'm a douche and I think it's the coolest thing.

THE Bub asked if I'm a douche!

Honey, did you hear? Bub, this guy from the podcast, asked if I was a douche.

No, his name is Bub.

A douche honey -- he asked if I was a "douche" Oh forget it.

Yes, that is a sad commentary. As sad as going back into your kitchen to brew.

Once you get that burner working and your gear in a more convenient spot, outside will be the best thing that happened to you.
