Any one ever used these before ?

Very interesting - could it be as good as dry hopping ? I'm doing an IPA in a month ....

If it's going in the end of the boil or the dry hop, as they suggest, the alpha acids won't isomerize anyways. So what's the poitn of removing the alpha acids from the hops your adding then, which is basically what these are?

Probably because they are using them in another product.

I haven't used them but I've heard a pro brewer say they were pretty good for dry hopping. Definitely easy but I would personally go for the real hops on the dry hop. Worth a try for sure.

JP gave me a sample back last October on the dry hopping show. Both "Cascade" and "Generic" tabs. I tried them about a month later with a Pale Ale, split the batch between 3 kegs, one w/ conventional dry hop (cascade/centennial), one w/ the Cascade aroma tabs, and one with the Generic aroma tabs. The conventional dry hop had a more delicate and rounded hop character, the cascade aroma tabs were good, but more harsh and chemical/fake/perfume like. The generic tabs seemed more noble like, but even more chemical/fake and almost metallic. It is also possible that I overused them with 1 tablet each in each 3.3 gallon keg. In conclusion, try 'em out, but use them sparingly, they're pretty powerful.

I think Tasty said at one point that Matt Reynoldson told him that all the beers that he (Tasty) loved the aroma of all used aroma extract. Do they use the same extract? I dunno.

I think these have more aroma than hops do, and the idea is to add a lot of aroma without bitterness or hop material. Same reason Vinny uses alpha acid extract in Pliny. If he did it all hop, he'd lose a lot of beer to hop matter absorbing it.
