diastatic power?

would there be any diastatic power in pale 2 row malt if it were toasted dry @ 350 for 10 minutes? Or is this long enough to convert? Or is the purpose toastiness only and no sugar conversion?

http://brewery.org/library/Malt_AK0996.html350F would likely destroy any enzymes in short order, and there would be no conversion.

so would a mini mash convert the starches if more 2 row was used in about a 50/50 ratio? About 8 ounces of each.

That would work, but I think what you're trying to accomplish could be done by just using Briess Special Roast with some 2-row... unless your true intent is to toast your own grains just to see how it comes out? A worthy experiment in my book... I usually toast my own oatmeal.
