Beer Week officially began at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

Nine homebrewing operations from across the Bay Area came to serve craft beer and launch small businesses during the inaugural Breweries of Tomorrow Nanobrewing Festival, held at Social Kitchen & Brewery. It did a great job featuring some awesome beers from homebrewers with entrepreneurial aspirations.

I was lucky enough to head to Anchor Brewing Company for their 140th Anniversary, an invite-only launch party featuring Brekle's Brown - a smooth, hoppy brown ale. It was brewed for Beer Week as a tribute to the original Anchor brewmaster, Gottlieb Brekle.
